Rooted Sophomores Discipleship Program

Rooted Sophs is an intense, invitation only discipleship program during the school year for local high school sophomores. The purpose of this program is to provide an environment that will help students to become more rooted in the basics of their Christian faith. RM believes that soph year is a vital spiritual crossroads for many students: transitioning to the high school, getting a driver’s license, first real job, allowed to go on dates alone, etc. With all this newfound freedom, students are put in positions where they have to really own their faith. They have to choose if for themselves, apart from their parent’s faith. So during this critical time, Rooted wants to invest in a core group of student leaders and make sure they put down deep spiritual roots to be able to stand the trials that come their way.
Rooted Sophs main focus is on deepening the participants knowledge of Scripture and theology. We also focus on 2 core spiritual disciplines: Scripture Memory and Prayer. One unique aspect of this program is that it’s interdenominational, which makes it a great opportunity to unite with believers across church lines. The last goal of this program is to prepare students to be a part of the invitation-only RM program for Juniors and Seniors called Flight Training, which focuses on going deeper, acquiring more tools to help grow in our faith, and putting our faith in action.
